birthed from our love for traditional processes and the amazing people behind perfecting a piece.
Living and travelling in Asia for numerous years, really made us appreciate the process and patience for quality. From clothing to objects, the more tedious a process can be, often creates pieces of perfection. Mis-steps and mistakes further propel this notion, creating time capsules and perfectly encapsulating a feeling of time and touch.
With this in mind, we found ourselves working with a handful of modern korean makers, from the icheon region of korea, and various galleries across japan, to bring ceramics with contrasting styles and stories to london.
Having this space has always been a goal of ours. we wanted to open the sphere of crafts to a wider audience. focusing on modern korean and antique japanese objects was a way to pay homage to the past, pouring history of both nations in each piece.
slowdance is an intimate, appointment based space, which exists to provide a more personal experience to each guest, with a complimentary tea/coffee provided. we welcome you to explore the space at your own pace, handling the ceramics to feel their energy and weight, to truly feel it’s substance.
